Yak Trek #4 Finishes With Sun!

Hey everyone!

Thursday and Friday turned out to be great sunny days for us. We ended up flying out on Friday to avoid getting stuck in the mountains since another big storm system is moving through the region this weekend. Folks got some incredible views of the Alaska Range after taking off from Sheep Bake Lake. We celebrated a successful trek during our final dinner in Talkeetna.

Group makes the move to Yak Camp

Hi everyone,

We started moving through the alpine tundra on our trek to Yak Camp. The clouds lifted high enough for us to see down the broad valleys and we enjoyed BLTs for lunch. A little bit of rain returned in the afternoon and folks were happy to find hot water when we arrived in camp. The forecast is calling for improving weather, so hopefully we’ll have some good views on the move to Sheep Back Lake!

Yak Trek Pushes On

Folks are all doing good up here in Alaska. The weather has been very challenging and people are maintaining positive attitudes. We made the move up to Lake Camp and had some dry weather to explore the area around camp. People are enjoying the various card games and all the hot water to stay warm in camp. We’ll be pushing on to Yak Camp and then Sheep Bake Lake to put ourselves in position for hopefully some good weather before we fly out of the mountains.

Cheers,
Dylan

Trek to Moonshadow Wraps Up

Hey everyone!

We enjoyed a nice breakfast by the lake this morning while waiting for the float planes. The weather was good and folks were able to fly back to Talkeetna. It was a great group and I’m sure they have lots of stories to share once back home.

We begin the trek tomorrow back to Sheep Back Lake with a new group. Thanks for following along!
